Is a city in Seminole County, Florida. The population was 26,316 as of the 2000 census. As of 2009, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 32,961. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee-Sanford
Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 40.0 km² (15.4 mi²). 15.1 square miles (39.2 km²) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²) of it (2.07%) is water. Oviedo is located about 20 minutes from downtown Orlando, Fl. by highway (SR 417 and SR 408). The Econlockhatchee River runs through the east part of the city, and a tributary, the Little Econlockhatchee River, runs through the southern part of the city.
The city of Oviedo's public schools are a part of Seminole County Public Schools. Oviedo contains 6 public elementary schools (K-5), 2 public middle schools (6-8), and 2 public high schools (9-12). The city of Oviedo is also home to a branch of Seminole State College of Florida and borders the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

New Water Utility Service with the City of Oviedo
You can establish your new utility account during our normal business hours by coming in person to fill out the necessary paperwork, pay your deposit and pick up your recycling bin. You can also request the necessary paperwork to be faxed to you by calling 407-971-5535. Forms can also be accessed online here so you may fill them out and bring them in with your deposit. Please note we require 24 hour notice and do not turn water on Saturday or Sunday.
Garbage services are provided by Republic Services. Regular garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup are provided. Garbage day pick-up schedules are available by calling 407-971-5535. Special garbage pick-up requests can be made directly to Republic Services at 407-293-8000. If you have a complaint regarding garbage pick-up, please call Republic Services directly at 407-293-8000.
Recycle bins are provided upon opening your utility account and Republic Services will deliver the bins directly to your home.
