After meeting Carolyn at a RE/MAX function some years ago he was instantly stuck by her personable nature and positive attitude. He has been in the business for over twenty years and few agents made an impression on him quite like Carolyn. “There are no shortcuts for hard work and Carolyn makes a plan and sticks to it. While many agents are complaining about market conditions, she continues to thrive because she is a consummate professional.”
Her dedication to her profession is unparalleled. In fact, Carolyn admits, “I sleep with my phone. It’s true! I want to be there for my customers no matter when they call. The business of real estate will always be done on my client’s time. I want to be there for them whenever they need me.”
Since joining RE/MAX Select in Oviedo, Carolyn has made the 100% Club and the Platinum Club and has always been one of the top agents in her office. Gary Balanoff, broker and sales manager at RE/MAX Select affectionately calls Carolyn, “the drive-by REALTOR®” because she usually just stops by the office to drop off contracts and pick up checks…usually late at night. “It is one thing to promise good service and everyone desires to ‘do a good job and help their customer or client’ but Carolyn really takes it to the ultimate level. Carolyn treats each client as a special person with individual needs and customizes the experience. As a broker, it is rare to find a client willing to send a card or letter praising their agent, but it is a fairly normal occurrence with Carolyn's clients,” shares Gary.
Carolyn’s “can do” attitude, integrity and vast knowledge are indispensable assets that her customers have come to know her for. She shares her motto: “If option A doesn’t work, go to Option B. If option B doesn’t work, we’ll find option C.” “I have a stellar reputation,” shares Carolyn proudly. “I am always honest with my clients. When people speak with me on the phone for the first time, they acquire an instant sense of trust. They know they have found a REALTOR® with the knowledge and experience to represent them whether it be buying or selling.”
She has achieved her Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) designation and will soon acquire her Graduate REALTOR® Institute designation as well. In addition, to better service her clients and to insure their financing is handled correctly, she also holds a mortgage license. Before joining RE/MAX Select, Carolyn worked for an investment company and dealt in foreclosures. She gained many years of valuable experience. This is knowledge she has been able to pass on to her customers.

It isn’t worth one green dollar. My customers know that I truly care about their best interests. It isn’t about my commission, it’s about their complete and utter satisfaction.”
Even with all these stellar qualities, in the end Carolyn ends up winning customers over with her heart. Her caring smile, soft-spoken manner and positive attitude win her customers for life. It is the personal touch along with the above average results she achieves for her customers that truly set her apart from her peers. Many of her customers become her friends.

She helped us find our house, helped us move and took care of us all the way. Not only was she a fantastic agent, she has become a true friend. I wish more agents were like Carolyn Moriarty.”
The seeds of Carolyn’s blossoming success were planted early on in her life and were cultivated with her own sweat and tears. A Florida native, she grew up on a farm south of Tallahassee in Wakulla County. Carolyn’s mother passed away when she was only ten years old, leaving her in the care of her grandmother and father. “My father worked three jobs just to try and make ends meet. He did what he had to do to provide for his family. It was from him that I learned my work ethic. Nothing was ever handed to me.” She recalls having to work just to be able to buy clothes for school because the family simply couldn’t afford it. She knew she had to have the drive and proper work ethic to succeed and achieve something better.
After attempts at repairing a troubled and abusive marriage failed, Carolyn moved back to Florida from North Carolina with sole custody of her two children. She worked at an investment company until she found her home at RE/MAX Select in 2005. “It was the best decision I ever made. Before going with RE/MAX Select in Oviedo, I interviewed with 3-4 different brokers and Gary Balanoff made the best impression on me – he radiates joy and peace with no alternative motives.” Despite the possibility of failure with no one to fall back on, she worked hours because she knew she had two children to provide for. Failure was not an option.
“Everything I have achieved has been a result of wanting to stand on my own two feet and be successful on my terms. I have two beautiful children who are my world and all of this is as much for them as it is for me. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for my children. I wanted to give them the best life possible,” Carolyn says with heartfelt affection for her son, Sean and daughter, Nikki. “They are the only family I have, and I am all they have.”
The two children have watched their mother’s struggles and determination. “While I am independent and have learned to be, I know she is right behind me every step of the way. She inspires me and I look up to her because I see how hard she works. She is always out to do her best,” shares Nikki. Sean adds, “she is there for me mentally, emotionally and spiritually. As a REALTOR®, I have seen her always go out of her way for her clients.”
Carolyn’s dreams for the future are always larger than life. Despite all the hardships she has suffered, it has been her positive attitude and determination that has pulled her through. “In any bad situation, one tries to always look back and find something good. I wouldn’t be where I am now without that experience,” Carolyn says, reflecting on the long hard road that has led her to her success. “In life, how we respond to getting through what we are going through is what makes us winners!”
